We love this program and its results! Denver’s ebike voucher program provides residents with vouchers for the purchase of electric bikes, with more than 5,000 vouchers redeemed to date. Two-thirds of vouchers go to income-qualified residents. Low-income residents get vouchers worth $1200 and other vouchers are worth $300 or $400. Additional funding for vouchers is available for cargo ebikes or for adaptive ebikes for people with disabilities.

A review of the 2022 program showed that Denver’s low-income participants used their ebikes nearly 50 percent more than standard voucher recipients.  Voucher recipients rode their ebikes 26 miles per week on average, replacing 3.4 round-trip automobile trips, for a cumulative 100,000 miles per week.  65 percent of recipients rode their ebikes daily, and 90 percent rode them weekly.
